Tupperware Brands celebrates its 56th Anniversary in Malaysia this year. For many of us, Tupperware brings back good memories: from Eco Bottles brought to school, home-cooked food packed by our wives or seeing our mom’s Tupperware collection at big family gatherings. There are also scary moments when we forget to bring home or left our mom’s or wife’s Tupperware, but that makes a good story to share too, just as long as the lost Tupperware is replaced with a new one then peace should be restored.
Tupperware has been a widely used term for food containers in general, but the beginning of this original freshness preserver and airtight master was the invention of Mr. Earl Tupper all the way from across the Pacific Ocean. Taking inspiration from paint can lids, Earl tested with leftover plastic material and out came the Wonderbowl, flexible plastic containers that sealed with a burp that kept freshness in and air out. Launching Earl’s products into stardom was our Tupperware Party creator, Brownie Wise. Like the famous song ‘Girls just want to have fun’, Brownie combined determination and aim to provide for her family with fun Tupperware Parties to highlight the amazing functions Tupperware bring to homes. The rest is Tupperware history.
More than keeping food fresh, it’s life-changing!
Apart from sealing in freshness, Tupperware Brands has also sealed financial freedom, confidence and a better life for millions of women. Through the Tupperware Brands business opportunities, housewives, single mothers and young entrepreneurs were given a chance to run their own business with time flexibility and at the comforts of their own home. They could still look after the children, mend household chores and financially contribute for their families. Lives were changed.
Our successful sales force has churned out stories where shy ladies found confidence to speak in front of crowds, paid off financial debts, cleared parents’ hospital bills, sent their children to universities, earned rewards such as 5-star holiday trips with spending money and free cars, all done with support and guidance. Truly, freshness is in our DNA as we not only give fresh solutions for food storage, but also a fresh start through our business opportunities.
As we celebrate 56 years of being in the beloved homes of Malaysians, knowing that Tupperware is being handed down from nenek to daughter-in-laws and cucu will continue to push us to preserve the goodness that Tupperware Brands has brought into millions of lives.
